Hello.
I was wondering is it possible to use 801.x authentication for access points, meaning that APs authenticate themselves towards some RADIUS server from switch ports they are connected to.

SolutionHi,
I do not believe that is supported at this point.
In the current release, they do support AP provisioning (preloading config on AP to change e.g. the AP management vlan id or a tagged management vlan or define the AP uplink as a vlan trunk), so this would allow the loading of the settings onto the AP.
However, since comware does not have a dot1x supplicant (client), we are stuck at this point (as far as I know).
Best regards,Peter.

Re: HP 830 wireless switch and MSM430 AP authentication
Hi Marcis,
Just as an update: current release does support a 802.1x supplicant on the APs. This can now be configured through AP provisioning, so the credentials can be saved locally on the AP in a ciphered format,
best regards,Peter
