MSM 710 Active Directory error: Time difference at Domain controller (3)

Hello

I am struggling to configure our MSM 710 firmware version:

When I try join the realm I get the following error

ERROR: Time difference at domain controller (3)

I have matched the time to our DC.

What else can I try or have a missed something

We are using a static IP for the controller, enabled override dynamically assigned DNS servers with the address of our local DC, which is our primary DNS server in our subnet.

Sounds like the same issue that was covered in the following thread:

http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1358140

Apparently a problem with the SW.

Re: MSM 710 Active Directory error: Time difference at Domain controller (3)

I read that, I was kind of hoping someone had a workable work around.

I have gone through all the time zone options and none of them work.

Whats even worse is that we bought the kit last year and it has never worked out the box, well this feature anyway.

Surely these updates should be available within the first year.

Thanks for the feedback though

Re: MSM 710 Active Directory error: Time difference at Domain controller (3)

During the 1st year you are entitled to receive maintenance releases. Meaning that you should be able to upgrade to the latest release within the major version that you have purchased.

In order to receive your upgrades you have to contact support. Because they won't hand it over to you if you don't ask for (meaning that you have an issue).

After that 1 year warranty, you must be covered by a support contract in order to receive the necessary updates.

So I'm not sure what category you fall in (<1year or >1year) or SW you are currently on (5.2.x? 5.3.x?), but surely if you have issues and it is during the 1st year with the product it is a good idea to contact support to get the latest SW!

Re: MSM 710 Active Directory error: Time difference at Domain controller (3)

We had version: 5.3.1.0-01-7143

You are right, we are still within our 1st year of purchase.

I contacted HP locally and they sent me an FTP link and I downloaded the latest firmware version: 5.3.5.13-01-7982

This patch has now allowed me to connect the MSM710 to the domain for Active Directory activation.

Thank you very much

Re: MSM 710 Active Directory error: Time difference at Domain controller (3)

To fix this problem I had to upgrade from:

Firmware version: 5.3.1.0-0107143

to

Firmware version: 5.3.5.13-01-7982

I was within my 1st year of purchase so I reported the fault to HP and they sent me a link to the latest Firmware for our MSM 710

Make sure you verify your SNTP/NTP settings and Timezone information on the controller.
Indeed keep the same DNS as your AD
