MSM 710 with 2 MSM466-R AP's, trouble with local mesh
I'm using an MSM 710 and 2 MSM466-R access points. Radio one is set to local mesh using a 12 dBI directional MIMO antenna. The radio is set to a/n 5.0Ghz, channel 36 on both the master and the slave. The link works, but when a client is connected to the 2.4ghz radio on the slave access point, the ping times to the controller are horrible (upwards of 1500+ in some cases), throughput is terrible, and pages load incredibly slow, if at all (7 minutes to load google, I have a 100m cable Internet connection feeding this system). We did have 2 MSM 320 access points in the same configuration, only the local mesh was also using 802.11g since the radios didn't support 802.11n. We never had this kind of a problem though. What are we missing? The antennas used for the WDS are 12dBI, 3 element MIMO antennas, and and the antenna on the 2.4ghz radio is a 15dBI 180 degree sector antenna. Signal is strong, SNR is over 40, but the throughput is simply horrible. We should be getting ping results to the controller of less than 10ms. This is the second deployment we have done in the exact same configuration and we have had the exact same problems both times. We have also done 3 other deployments, almost identical, but we used the standard indoor 466 and sealed it in a weatherproof enclosure. With those units, we didn't have any issues. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
