MSM422 pure n, 5 Ghz: 20/40Mhz setting not available (fixed to 20 Mhz)

Hi,

at the moment I'm testing a newly purchased msm422. I wanted to operate radio 1 in 802.11n, 5Ghz mode.

Now, when I set country to Austria I get lots of 5GHz channels to choose from, but I'm not able to select 20/40 MHz, while it's possible when I set the device to Germany.

Does anyone know of any restrictions that would make it impossible/not legal to using 2 spatial streams?

I can't find anything but frequency and EIRP restricitons for different countries..

Available channels in Austria are nearly the same to Germany, but there are differences in max. EIRP allowed.

Between 5470-5725MHz even 1W is allowed though.

Do I get something wrong, is there something else I haven't thought of, or might there be a problem with country restrictions provided by the firmware?

Anyone any idea?

P.S. This thread has been moved from Communications, Wireless (Legacy ITRC forum) to MSM Series. -HP Forum Moderator

Thanks a lot!

What's also strange (at least for me, with my little understanding) is that I can't set guard intervald to short when using "Austria" restrictions on the device..
