MSM720 unable to access web management

Hello,

Recently, something happened and i have lost access to the web management. I can SSH into tthe controller, but cannot access its web management portal. Wireless still works, but i cant add guests via the visittor management because it fails to connect.

When i attempt to load the web portal, i get ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CYPHER_MISMATCH

Any ideas?

I've tried rebooting it and it didnt solve the issue. I just dont know what else to do..

Thanks

Re: MSM720 unable to access web management

Hello ,

Could you please let me know which web browser are you using .

Try to disable SSL scan from your webbrowser it will resolve the issue

eg : if you are using IE use the below steps

  1. From the IE8 windows, click on "Tools" and then "Internet Options".
  2. Click on the "Content" tab.
  3. Click on the "Clear SSL State" button.
  4. Click on the "OK" button.
  5. Exit and restart Internet Explorer.

If you are using  Chrome

Open chrome://flags

Look for "Minimum SSL/TLS version supported."

Choose SSLv3

Click on "Relaunch now" button

Open your https page again

You will be redirected to a "Your connection is not private" page. If you do not worry about this security issue click on the "Advanced" link.

Finally click on "Proceed to (your https page) (unsafe)".

Thanks and regards

Re: MSM720 unable to access web management

You're using an old FW that requires SSLv3, but your browser is new. New browsers don't support SSLv3 anymore due to POODLE vulnerability. At least in Firefox it can be re-enabled.

You don't mention which MSM FW you're running, but when I was testing for this I was able to access all current FW versions after I disabled SSLv3 and left all TLS versions enabled in my browser. You can also try to re-enable SSL in your browser, or find a portable version of Firefox 33 which still supports SSLv3.

Once you get access to the GUI, upgrade to current MSM FW and SSL is no longer needed.
