Hi,
I'm new in HP wireless. I have MSM760 access controller (firmware version - 5.5.2.0-01-9934).
My problem is that I can't bring up internet port on MSM760.
When I connect internet port with our Cisco switch on access port (untagged) in VLAN that has access to Internet, port on Cisco switch is up up and LED's on internet port are blinking normaly (speed 1000, activity ok). Internet port gets all information from DHCP (ip address, dns server, realm...) exept default gateway.
In port configuration window of MSM760 Internet port is red - DOWN and it is not reachable.
I try with static address - same.
In system logg I have repeatedly message:
Aug 26 11:44:27 crit monitord Last message repeated 1 times
Aug 26 11:44:17 crit monitord *** ATTENTION *** BID check failure
Aug 26 11:44:12 err dhclient send_packet: Network is down
Aug 26 11:44:12 crit monitord Last message repeated 2 times
Aug 26 11:44:01 crit monitord *** ATTENTION *** BID check failure
Aug 26 11:44:01 err dhclient send_packet: Network is down
Is that normal behavior or it is hardware failure?
Please help

Re: MSM760 Internet port down
you must try 3 step for solution
1-set controller port 1000base full
2-check utp cable
3-connect crossover cable between cisco and msm
and take test

Re: MSM760 Internet port down
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem on a brand new replacement MSM 760, internet port comes live only for a few seconds and then dies immediatley.
What was the resolution to this post please?
Bid check errors reported in log.

Re: MSM760 Internet port down
Hi,
We assumed that the harware was fault, and ordered another MSM760 but are having exaclty the same problem with the second one too.
Did you attempt to restore an earlier version of backup file from a previous release ? as this seems to be what might have caused our issue.

Re: MSM760 Internet port down
The Internet port doesn't work untagged, you have to define a VLAN ID.
Please read the release notes for the current firmware, there are several problems you should know about.
