MSM765zl web content

I would like to start using the Public Access web content within the MSM765zl controller. However, I do not want the HP log or ad to show, I want to replace them with my own. I have successfully replaced the logo by putting my own logo.gif file in, but have been unsuccessful in replacing the ad, my ads.jpg does not seem to replace the existing HP ad. That's really all I want to do, everything else can stay the same, as I am not using the purchasing or any other function, I just want to have the guests have to login, using the MSM765zl user account I made, and that's it. The reason is so the SSID that this guest account uses can limit the bandwidth, which works. I just want our own logo and ad in place of the default HP logo and ad. Does anyone have a simple solution to replacing the HP ad in the default web content?

Re: MSM765zl web content

You can remove the 'ads' div by going to the "Public Access" -->"Web Content" menu and editing the index.asp file.

Remove the section:

Most cost-effective 802.11n migration

Or you can edit this section by adding a different image in the img src section.

I hope this helps!

Re: MSM765zl web content

Thanks Kyle. Actually I had tried replacing the ads.jpg file with one of my own, as I did want to have something there, just not the one showing up by default. Try as I might, just changing the ads.jpg file did not replace the default HP ad, it still shows. Curiously, I did find that if I force the users to use the https login, instead of the http, then my logo and ad do appear. Of course, then they get the certificate warning which I'd prefer they didn't get, but I don't have what it takes to replace the certificate file. I'd prefer to keep the login as http, but then I only get the HP logo and ad. I had thought I'd resolved the logo part, but the HP logo came back. I see what you mean by removing the entire section, but I was hoping to just have my own ad image there.

Re: MSM765zl web content

Hi Ron

Have you checked the section "Customizing the public access interface" from the Mgmt/Conf guide?

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual〈=en&cc=us&docIndexId=64179&taskId=101&prodTypeId=12883&prodSeriesId=3963981

That explains step by step how you can replace the default web content with your own materials.
