how to allow the ARP protocol from Internet port to wireless clients
Hi
I use a MSM760 controler and MSM430 access point with 6.6.0 firmware.
I have 2 VSCs, one for the staff without problem and another for guests.
The guest is a open VSC on the MSM760 and the authentication is done by a Ucopia Portal.
The Ucopia send ARP frames to clients to check if they are connected.
the problem is that ARP frames are blocked by the MSM760, the portal have no response from the client and disconnect it.
I try with and without firewall on the MSM760
before, with an old MSM760 and a firmware 5.3.5,and same IP addresses we haven't this problem.
How to autorise ARP frames to go from the Ucopia portal to the client.
BR.

I forgot to say that clients receive their IP address from the Ucopia portal without problem

You may try disabling "Wireless Security Filters" under the guest VSC.
If it doesn't help, let's wait for any expert reply

Re: how to allow the ARP protocol from Internet port to wireless clients
"Wireless Security Filters" is disabled under the guest VSC
I have tried with the Firewall of the Internet port option to none.
connected in wifi, I see arp frames from the MSM760 but not the UCOPIA
The Internet Port of the MSM760, the UCOPIA and WiFi clients are one the same IP network like with the old MSM760

Re: how to allow the ARP protocol from Internet port to wireless clients
hello,
in fact,
when the portal send a ARP request :
the source is the MAC address of the portal and the destination is the broadcast MAC address, the request is like "who has client IP address tell portal IP address"
when the MSM760 forward the request to the client :
the source is the MAC address of the MSM760 and the destination is the client MAC address, the request is like "who has client IP address tell MSM760 internal IP address"
the response of the client :
the source is the client MAC address and the destination is the MAC address of the MSM760 , the response is like "client IP address is at client MAC address"
The response of the client isn't forwarded to the portal that can't know if the client is connected.
How to transmit arp frames unmodified from the portal to the client ?
The autodisconnect of portal need a response of the client to work
BR
