msm760 vlan
Hi
I'm setting up a wirless network with 3 vscs on a msm760 controller with msm310 ap
ssid1
ssid2
guest
ssid1 and ssid2 is active directory authentication. Have created a vlan on the msm and same vlan on the switcha nd the traffic is passing fine.
How to I create a seperate vlan in msm for guest network so that it goes out straight through the internet port in the msm760 without using any dhcp etc from the msm.
Your help is appreciated
Thanks
P.S. This thread has been moved from Communications, Wireless (Legacy ITRC forum) to MSM Series. -HP Forum Moderator

Re: msm760 vlan
You would normally use the MSM controller's DHCP server to provide IP addresses to the guest users. Is there an issue doing that?
You would typically have 3 VLANs, one for each VSC. By default, the untagged VLAN is where the first, default VSC ends up. This can be changed. Maybe you should disable the default VSC/SSID (ProCurve) and create a new access-controlled (HTML authentication aka captive portal) VSC along with a new VLAN for it.
