using 2 wireless routers

I have 2 3com wireless routers.

I wish to share one global wireless network (one ssid and same security codes). I know I can use WDE but I don’t want to have half communication speed.

What I want to ask is, assuming I use wire to connect the 2 routers... and use WDE. Will the data flow via both wire and wireless connection?

Is there a way not to use WDE (i.e.  Communication between the 2 routers will be via wire only) and still have for the end user only one wireless network?
