2/8V SAN Switch and Cascade
What parameters do I need to configure on 2/8V SAN switch to connect it to another switch and have single fabric. I understand that Domain ID has to be same on both the switches, but I do not have further information.
Any help or step-by-step configuration is highly appriciated.
Thanks

Re: 2/8V SAN Switch and Cascade
Hello,
actually, you are incorrect there. The Domain IDs of the 2 switches must NOT be the same, and don't use Domain ID 8, either. If both switches are still set to default settings, the the simple steps are as follows:
1) Disable one switch (from telnet run switchdisable)
2) Connect the FC cable linking the 2 switches
3) Re-enable the switch using switchenable. It should integrate into the fabric.
Run switchshow to see the port status (should say "E-Port" and "Upsteam" on the switch you disabled/enabled). Run fabricshow to show all switches in the fabric.
Regards,
Stephen
