Array Configuration Utility

I have an MSA1000 with two San switches. I would like to be able to manage the disk storage via the Array Configuration Utility under Windows. Unfortunately, the only machine running a Windows operating system with a HBA connected to a switch is Windows NT 4.0. Is there a version of the Array Configuration Utility that I can use to manage the SAN disk storage that will run on Windows NT 4.0?

Thank you,

Jim

Re: Array Configuration Utility

Hi Jim,

ACU for NT is here:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/10878.html
It the older non-web-based version from January 2002, but says it supports the MSA1000. Don't know if it would support the newer Firmware of the MSA.
What other OSes do you have attached to the MSA? If you've got Linux, you can get ACU for that, too. Looks and behaves just like the latest version for Windows.

Re: Array Configuration Utility

I have that version of the ACU running on the NT machine. It does not see the MSA1000. I am attached to the MSA1000 via a fibre HBA to a SAN switch. The only operating system I have that is attached to the MSA1000 via HBA to SAN switch is Tru64 (5.1A and 5.1B).

Thank you,

Jim

Re: Array Configuration Utility

Hi Jim,

just had another look, and I found a more up-to-date web-based version here:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/CP002501-003000/cp002597.exe
From the accompanying README:
HP Array Configuration Utility
Version 6.0.5.0
10/23/2002

Supported Operating Systems

Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
Microsoft Windows 2000

Stephen
