Re: Can a MSA 2050 get connected to d2700
Yes, but please follow this guide: https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/a00038086enw.pdf
Big caveat is that if you plan to do this as part of a data in place upgrade, the you must be using Virtual storage on the 2040 as the 5th generation arrays do not support Linear. There are more gotchas than that, but all are in the technical paper.

Re: Can a MSA 2050 get connected to d2700
For the MSA2050 only MSA2050 expansion enclosures are supported (see quickspecs).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Can a MSA 2050 get connected to d2700
To support customer investment and data inplace upgrades, the D2700 is supported with the MSA Gen5 (2050/1050) systems as documented in the MSA 2050 Upgrade guide: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00015116enw
I'm pretty sure this was the document that Ben Smith was trying to direct you to. I also get a PDF error trying to get to Ben's link. A google search for "MSA 2050 upgrade guide" should get you where you need to go.
