Has as document: MSA 2/8 SAN switch installation guide.
From it:
"By default, the switch is configured to use an IP address of 10.77.77.7" - have you tried that IP?
For serial,
You are connecting through the back of the MSA1000 right?
The settings should be:
Bits per second 9600
Databits 8
Parity None
Stop bits 1
Flow control None
And the cable needs to be:
■ Serial cable (supplied with the switch) for connecting the switch to the workstation.
This cable must be a straight-through cable.

Re: Cannot connect to SAN switch 2/8 in MSA1000 - serial connection
Hi,
Of course I connect back of MSA1000.
I used good setting for com1 port.
I'm not sure which cable I have. No I search fit cable.
I know that default address is 10.77.77.77 but on lcd in controller show 0.0.0.0
I read that somethimes switch from hp come with another address because it's maybe refubrished.
I think that I should use cable - Simple Straight Through Cable like in 3 picture on below link.
