Command view on win2k does not see va7400

Hi,
I'm looking for some hints on how to get this to work.

I have a va7400 [HP13] connected to
an HP surestore entry switch 8B
which is connected to a win2k system using HP8602B HBAs

the va is fibric attached at 2GB
the win2k is fabric attached at 1GB

commandview 1.02.0012 is installed on the win2k system

Using the web interface to the switch I can see the PC and the two va7400 controllers,

I see the wwn port and node names and the port type of 'N' for each.

The command view GUI starts but shows no devices. armdiscover reports no devices found on host : localhost.

I've disable LUN security on the va with the vfpsecure -d command. (just in case it was a security problem)

OpenDial and Hostagent services are running. I don't see any LUNs showing up in the disk manager.

Is there a HBA level ping WWN type of command available with the D8602B?

Hello Bill,

I think the problem is that there is no configuration LUN. W2K should at least have seen LUN 0.

I would therefore suggest that you create LUN 0, size 10MB, on the VA using the serial cable interface and then run armdiscover.

Hope this helps.

Re: Command view on win2k does not see va7400

Thanks Erwin.

I created a LUN 0 (and a LUN 1 for fun). armdiscover still doesn't find anything. I also uninstalled autopath thinking it might be blocking something. Still nothing.

I think the prob...
fc card hostmode
u change the hostmode
D8062B card is 'L' type
->'N' type

Re: Command view on win2k does not see va7400

Thank you.

I already had this working. But I was still having some problems. I checked the registry and found I had RelyOnSyncStatus set to "1" I changed it to "0".

Don't know what this does but I'll see if things work any better.

Thanks.
