Connecting MSA30 to MSL6000

Hello,

Is it possible to connect MSA30 to MSL6000? My main goal is to configure the MSA30, and create partitions and file system on it.

Maybe I did not understand the question, but the MSL6000 is a tape library and the MSA30 is a disk chassis - you need to connect both to a server.
Connecting disks to this library does not work.

Thank you for the response. I have a MSA30 that may need to be configured, but I do not have a spare controller like a MSA1000. I was wondering if the MSL6000 has a controller, where I can configure the MSA30. According to your answer, this is not possible.

Hi,

You cannot configure an MSA30 - it is just a disk shelf.

Any configuration will need to be done on whatever controller you are planning on connecting the MSA30 to.

(and no you can't connect it to an MSL6000).
