Connecting a MSL2024 to a MSA2314fc

Hi

I am trying to specify a SAN solution using the MSA2314fc SAN and an MSL2024 tape library, I need to take a snapshot and then archive the snapshot to tape, I am having difficulty with this. I don’t know if the ‘snapshot and volume copy software’ can to this or if I need traditional backup software such as Backup Exec.

Any help will be appreciated.

Best regards

I guess this means the software license for the MSA2300.
This works completely inside the MSA.

It is necessary to present the snapshot/clone to a server (it will look like a full copy of the original disk) and use additional software to send the data to tape.

Thank you for responding, I did mean the software license for the MSA2300. It makes sense that the snapshot works like that, I can use Backup Exec as usual.
I had assumed that the Fibre Channel version is required because of the necessity to link the tape library to the MSA2300 but it now looks like the SAS version will do the job.

Thanks again.
