DL 380 gen9, H241, MSA2050 no SAS connected volumes
Hi,
I'm trying to get a SAS connection to an MSA2050/2052 working with a H241 HBA card in a DL 380 Gen9 running Windows Server 2019. According to https://h20272.www2.hpe.com/SPOCK/Content/ExportPDFView.aspx?Id=116024&typeId=2 the solution is supported. The MSA firware has been upgraded to VL270P003-001 (latest). The HBA is tried with firmware 6.88/driver 100.20.0.64(B) and firmware 7.00/driver 106.26.0.64. Windows doesn't recognise any volumes on the MSA storage. What solutions are available to make this work?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: DL 380 gen9, H241, MSA2050 no SAS connected volumes
Is MSA can see or discover the Host?
Can you please share the SAS cable part number which you have used?
Are you able to see MSA from Server HBA?
Are you trying in WIndows Cluster Environment or standalone system ?
Check if multipath can be issue. You can check below link,
Hope this helps!

Re: DL 380 gen9, H241, MSA2050 no SAS connected volumes
Hello Subhajit,
My problem tured out to be a cabling error together with a multipath issue.
I was trying in Windows Cluster Environment. 4x Gen7 with HBA H221 is running without issues.
After correcting the above, the Gen9 with H241 also works.
Thanks!
