Delete Host on P2000 G3 iSCSI

Hi all,

I have to delete some old host on an P2000 G3 iSCSI. (firmware TS230P008)

I have found this page but it doesn't work.

When i enter "show hosts" I have this:

# show hosts
Host ID                                   Name        Discovered Mapped
  Profile   Host Type
------------------------------------------------------------------------
iqn.1998-01.com.vmware:srv-esx-3bb6c62e   iSCSI-esx1  Oui        Non
  Standard  iSCSI
iqn.1998-01.com.vmware:srv-esx2-39c81869  OLD         Oui        Oui
  Standard  iSCSI
iqn.1998-01.com.vmware:srrvesx2-5b9cb91a  iSCSI-esx2  Oui        Non
  Standard  iSCSI
iqn.1998-01.com.vmware:srv-esx-3bb8c62e               Oui        Non
  Standard  iSCSI
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to delete the one which called OLD what I have to enter??

Thanks

Re: Delete Host on P2000 G3 iSCSI

AFAIK you cannot. As long as the HBA is visible, the array will discover it again and again.

Hope this helps!

Re: Delete Host on P2000 G3 iSCSI

Torsten,

Thanks for your feedback.

But this host is link with an old esx server (I have reinstall it so the iqn is now different).

How can I do to make the array not discover again and again?

Thanks

Torsten.

Re: Delete Host on P2000 G3 iSCSI

As long as the array can see the servers HBA, this HBA (host) will be discovered and listed. IMHO there is no way to delete a host entry - unfortunately.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Even if I stop my esx server?

But if you delete it and then the rediscovery, shouldn't it find the new IQN of the box?
