Hi all,
We're looking at installing a P2000 G3 10Gb iSCSI into one of our datacenters. I've seen a lot of online references where the array seems to have interfaces configured on 2 iSCSI VLANs.
For example
For example, page 41 says
The MSA2000i G2 uses port 0 of each controller as one failover pair, and port 1 of each controller as a second failover pair. Therefore, port 0 of each controller must be in the same subnet, and port 1 of each controller should be in a second subnet.
For example (with a netmask of 255.255.255.0):
• Controller A port 0: 10.10.10.100
• Controller A port 1: 10.11.10.120
• Controller B port 0: 10.10.10.110
• Controller B port 1: 10.11.10.130
I'd prefer to use 1 VLAN and utilize our highly redundant switch infrastructure (Nexus 5K). VMware and Windows hosts would have connectivity into the single VLAN with 2 HBAs/NIcs each.
Are there any issues with using a single VLAN?
Ben

Re: Does P2000 G3 iSCSI require two VLANs?
Separating the VLAN is recommended to isolate the traffic as much as possible which can give higher performance.
The correct documents to refer for P2000 G3 iSCSI are,
User Manual : http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02520793/c02520793.pdf
Best Practices : http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA3-2141ENW.pdf

SolutionReplying to my own post. I've got all 4 10Gb ports on the same VLAN, all host initiators are on the same VLAN. Failover between controllers is working, round robin on the two "owning" ports on the controller is working as well.
