EVA 5000 450gb 15 disk support...

We are 2 years aways to renew our storage and till now we haven't heard of new firmware to support fiber 450gb 15k and 1tera fata nevertheless this disks are equiped with dual channel velocity 2/4gb. The controller version more recent that i finf is the v4.100 from 2007 without such support. Has HP ended clycle as it did on blp blades without assuring the compromise of updating bl45pg2 to amd rev f quad processors as publicized? Such move retired HP as our blade supplier, will that happen on storage? I hope to be wrong and not end with two half filled evas on Continous Access - it is too bad to be true.

The EVA5000 is now almost 6.5 years old and can only map 35 software terabytes in virtual disks, snapshots/clones. I'd be surprised if they will support those large disk drives.

Re: EVA 5000 450gb 15 disk support...

..and the facts are: 2 EVA's in each site with config mirrored. for the purpose 1 eva matters:

8 enclosures with 72gb x 3 bays x 8 enclosures (horizontal grow)+ 300gb x 3 x 8 = 8.928 TB raw space < 35TB (49TB raw with Vraid 5 and 72TB raw with Vraid 1) = 8 bays left that in the top scenario with tera fata disk would lead to 8.928 + 24.000 = 32.928 TB RAW (not usable) space.

now, is there real support by HP storage tech standards, or there is nothing besides richie rich point 's scarce comments?
