EVA3000 VSC 3.010 update

We are running VSC 3.010 in a heterogeneous environment with AIX and Windows 2000 hosts. I must migrate to AIX 5.2.
Is there any mandatory upgrade for VCS?
In case of I migrate to VCS 3.028:
FCA DS-SWIA1-PD (AIX), KPGSA-CB (windows) are yet support?
Does secure path AIX version 2.0D sp3 support on VCS 3.028?
Does secure path Windows V4.0C support on VCS 3.028?

Re: EVA3000 VSC 3.010 update

As far as I can tell, both adapters are supported on VCS 3.028, although there are limitations (DS-SWIA1-PD not supported in some Bull servers, no boot support for DS-KGPSA-CB).

Secure Path V2.0D SP3 (AIX) is supported on VCS 3.028, but you need Secure path V4.0C SP1 (Windows) at minimum - current is V4.0C SP2-1.

The minimum supported VCS version is V3.020, although I thought it has left support per January 2006.

Re: EVA3000 VSC 3.010 update

I find in a release note about VCS3.028 that I must first upgrade to 3.014, but I don't find any documentation about VCS 3.014, where can I find this documentation?
Is the migration path = VCS3.010 => VCS 3.014 => VCS 3.028 or other way?
Where can I find support lifecycle for VCS product?
Where do you find info about support of secure path Windows?

Re: EVA3000 VSC 3.010 update

It is strongly recommended that a meta data scan/repair be done on the way through VCS 3.014 which requires array downtime. It is also necessary to do a disk drive firmware update. All this need to be done by HP services and requires array downtime.

I strongly recommend that you carefully plan this upgrade together with HP. Please do not attempt this on your own, even if you manage to get the firmware. Most likely you also need an upgrades to Command View EVA software and device drivers as well.

The VCS support lifecycle is communicated through the normal customer advisory mechanism.

VCS 3.020 end-of-support was January 31, 2006.
