Enable MPIO on Windows 2008 with existing dirives linked to MSA2324fc

Hi All,

As the subject mentioned, what would be the impact if I enable Windows 2008 MPIO on a server with existing drives linked to a HP MSA2324fc? The existing drives is looking like this:

I understand that it will require at least a reboot but my main concern is that would it cause the drives to reinitialize and format and lost existing data?

Thank you very much for your help.

Charlie

No, enabling MPIO will not cause the drives to re-initialize or format and lose their data. Please review the MSA MPIO DSM installation guide for detailed information on how to enable MPIO on Windows 2008.
