Extending an MSA20000 by another RAID10 does not show volumes on linux host.

Hi,

I have two MSA 2000 with 5 disks each. There is a RAID10 running on it (1 spare disk). It have three volumes and the volumes are available on the linux host.

I need to get more disk space and I decided to put in four additional disks. I configured them on the MSA as another RAID10 by the web interface and put one volume on it. After I restarted the Storage and Management Controller of the MSAs I rebooted the Linux host. I would have expected that the new volume shows up as sd[gh] device in the dmesg but it does not.

Any ideas what I missed ?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Extending an MSA20000 by another RAID10 does not show volumes on linux host.

Do you have Mapped the new Volume to the Host?

Type :

show volume-maps

Example:

map volume access rw ports a1,b1 lun xx host yy vd02_v001
