FCA2214 + ML570

We are going to be implementing a SAN and I have a question about the FCA2214. We have a Compaq Proliant ML570. Will the FCA2214 work in this model? I know the FCA2214 says it supports a 133Mhz PCI-X bus but it doesn't say if it will go down to a 66Mhz bus which the ML570 has. I can't find any information in the specs about this or if this model is supported by HP on a ML570.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mike:

I believe if you were to place the hba into a standard PCi bus slot, it would work at 33Mhz.

The card should operate in the 64bit/66MHz bus, but obviously only at 66Mhz not the full bus speed.

Dependong on the application, you may or may not even notice any performance issues.

Re: FCA2214 + ML570

I probably would not try it in a 32bit/33Mhz bus, I was just eluding to the fact that most 64bit cards I have come across work in a standard PCi bus. I never tried a fibre HBA though.

Re: FCA2214 + ML570

Thanks for the reply. I'm probably going to get a FCA2404 instead since that one will definitely work on the ML570 and at the 64bit/66Mhz bus.
