Fabric Switch Configuration backup

I have four new HP/Brocade fabric switches (4/32's and 4/16's) and need to upload the configurations from.

I am unable to ftp from or to the switches. Is there something I need to turn on?

Re: Fabric Switch Configuration backup

Hi,

you should not need to change anything on the switches. Maybe on your FTP server?
Just telnet to the switch and run configupload. Then it will ask you for the IP-Address and login of your FTP server.

You need to provide more details, for example the exact error message. Can we assume that you did set up correct IP networking on the switches?

Re: Fabric Switch Configuration backup

There is no ftp server on the switch - the switch is the ftp client and will connect to an "external" ftp server on your network (it is asking for the IP data) to store the files.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
