I have a HP Storage Works 2000fc SAN that has an orange light on one of the drives and in the ‘MSA Storage Management Utility’ it says Critical, Virtual Disk Warning.
When the drive is replaced what is the procedure to reinitialised the drive so it can rebuilt the RAID.
It does not rebuild automatically like other servers.
Thanks.

Re: Faulty Disk on MSA 2000fc
Are you wondering how to start the rebuild?

SolutionThanks very much that has fixed it.
These additional notes might help.
The way to rebuild the array is to do the following:
- Log into the HP MSA Storage Management Utility.
- Click on Manage.
- Under Vdisk Configuration, Click on Add Vdisk spares
- The new disk will be green with a tick box available on it. Tick the box and click on “Add Vdisk Spares”
- The Raid will reconstruct.
