HP 8/20Q FIBRE CHANNEL SWITCH - Port issue
Hi,
I had to borrow a cable from a fabric, when I placed the cable back, the server (esx 3.5 U2) could not talk to the storage. The HBA is ok, the cable is ok, it seems its the port on the switch thats the issue. What would have changed to cause this issue? The volume mappings did not change, and the WWN's are the same. The storage is a msa2012 with qlogic HBA's in a dl380 G5.
If I change ports it works, but I cannot then get anything to work on the dodgy port.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

Re: HP 8/20Q FIBRE CHANNEL SWITCH - Port issue
VMWare is sensitive when it comes to luns. Are you using that port to serve volumes? or is that a passive path for failover? Have you look in the VM Admin for it? If you can test it by generating traffic down that path it may come back online.
