HP Brocade AP769A does not support direct connectivitiy to HP P2000 G3 FC SAN

Dear 

We have sold to our customer HP P2000pG3 Pn: AP846A along with HBA p/n: AP769A but when my engineer went for installation its not detecting the storage directly.

Please advise what will be the issue does Brocade does not support & we have to get Qlogic in this case.

The default setting for the msa is direct attach (loop), but you need to set the type to fabric (point to point). If the switch has zoning enabled, you probably need to create a new zone.

Check "switchshow" if it got a link.

there is no switch we want to connec the server directly to HP P2000G3 controller

I see it is a brocade hba, sorry.

But it is listed as supported:

(near the bottom)

So is the setting still "loop"?

Hi,

Check the host parameters setting on MSA, is it loop or point-to-point or auto.

Try changing it to point-to-point using command "set host-parameters". Then verify with command "show host-parameters"

You need to have driver 3.1.0.0 to support FCAL and direct attach to storage with the Brocade FC HBA.

See Brocade Adapters v3.1.x.x Release Notes Update 1 for details.

Unfortunately it looks like v3.1.0.0 have not yet been published on HP's site but it is available on Brocade's.

i have given the link to my engineers to test the situation tomorrow will get back to you once things are fine. 

hopefully it should work with driver update.
