HP EVA5000 + Cisco 9216 + hp BL20p G2 major Issues

We have the above config, the cisco's can see a Blade that was added to the enclosure, and the new blade has been set into the correct, and active zone. we cannot see the PORT LIST in the HSG but have added the blade manually using the WWPN. this was added sucessfully, we have created a Vdisk and presented it to the HOST. the Host cannot see it. Secure path is loaded on the blade and the OS is win2003. it was working in the previous enlosure so were kind of stuck,

any and all help greatly appreciated.

Max,
if the EVA (which uses HSV, not HSG controllers) cannot see the FCA's WWPN, then you very likely have a problem and a manual entry will not help much.

Does the blade have enough 'intelligence' in the FCA's BIOS so that you can use it to scan the fabric? The EVA does always present a LUN at address #0 (not a disk, though) and you should be able to see this one no matter if you have presented any virtual disks or not.

Uwe, thanks for the prompt reply, sorry, yes they are indeed HSV controllers. the cars in the baldes are QLA23xx HBA's.

essentially, when we look in the HSV, and go to HOST, Add Host, the Prepolulated WWPN secion says "port list not avaliable" and allows manual entry of the Port WWPN. this then once done, shows as sucessful.

Are there any known issues with the EVA5000 and the Cisco 9216 switches?

this is holding up a major rollout so they guys are desperate for a solution.

I'll try the bios scan and see what happens.

Checked the BIOS on the affected Blade. it can see nothing. it i presume, is an error with the cisco fabric then?

absolutely stumped now.....

Also, the HSV is an HSV110 if that helps.
