Hello,
I have an up-to-date MSA 2040 SAS array and a DL380 GEN9 server with an HP H241 Smart HBA card.
Card HBA Drivers : 106.26.0.64(B)
MSA2040 firmware : GL225P002-02
On the server side, with the SSACLI with command "controller all show config detail" i can see my HBA card with the two cables connected (I have the cable ID, the length and the smart part).
On the side of the MSA bay, however, I see all my SAS ports in disconnected status.
Does anyone have an idea of the problem or have encountered this problem?

Re: Query: HP MSA 2040 Connectivity failure
Hello @Caernside,
Have you done the ping test from both the sides? What does the result show?

Re: Query: HP MSA 2040 Connectivity failure
Hello @Caernside,
From MSA, I think you can use 'query peer connection' option on page number 112 of this document:

Solution@Caernside
What I would suspect is that the cable is not fully seated.
mini-SAS HD cables have a very small tab to make sure that they are installed correctly which can be overwhelmed and the cable installed upsidedown. First check to make sure the cable is installed in the correct orientation.
Next to check is to make sure the latching mechanism is not interfering with the connection. Gently pull on the cable and if it pulls free then it was not latched. sometimes you have to pull the latch release as you are inserting the cable to get it fully seated.
Lastly but maybe firstly, Is the cable connected into the host ports or the mini-SAS expansion port? The 2040 SAS system has 4x mini-SAS HD host connectors (Basically a square) and 1x mini-SAS expansion connected (rectangle).
For management you will not use any of the SSA utilities. As the H241 will act as a passthru.
