HPE 2000 G3 SAS: re-join spare disk to be a member of RAID(6)

Hello Community,

Recently I had 1 disk fail in HPE 2000 G3 storage. After replacing it,  its state was AVAIL. I navigated to VDISK>Configuration>Manage Dedicated spares>Modify spares and its state changed to SPARE.

How do I make this SPARE disk to participate in RAID?

Did you replaced with same type and equal or bigger size drive?

At the time of creating this VDISK how many drives were part of it?

Right now how many drives you can see part of the vdisk?

What was the VDISK state you can see ? is it FTDN or CRIT?

If there is single drive failed and replaced with proper drive followed by confgured as dedicated spare then vdisk reconstruction should start automatically.

You can check below link and refer Page no 34,

Hope this helps!
