HSG80 SANS connection to host
I have a SANS 16 port fiber switch going bad. The fiber switch is between my HSG80 SANS controller and a file server connected to the SANS, I used to have several servers connected to the SANS via the fiber switch but as I slowly try to retire this aging, antiquated, piece of sh.., I mean, equipment, I am down to one remaining file server connected to it.
I'm thinking that since I am down to just one server connected to the SANS, that I can eliminate the failing fiber switch and connect the server fiber HBA directly to the SANS controller.
Can I do this, and get rid of the SANS fiber switch?
Thanks.

Re: HSG80 SANS connection to host
You can configure the host ports to use FC_AL protocol.
SET THIS_CONTROLLER PORT_1_TOPOLOGY = LOOP_HARD
SET THIS_CONTROLLER PORT_2_TOPOLOGY = LOOP_HARD
SET THIS_CONTROLLER PORT_1_AL_PA=71
SET THIS_CONTROLLER PORT_2_AL_PA=72
RESTART THIS_CONTROLLER
