Help with RA4100 firmware upgrade

I'm using compaq raid array 4100 with IBM Netfinity 6000R server. RA4100 is connected to emulex LP7000 card.

I have downloaded rompaq and tried upgrading the firmware. But, the upgrade program shows no hardware detected message.

I sincerely appreciate help and directions...

Re: Help with RA4100 firmware upgrade

I am in the same situation with an RA4100, a non Compaq server, and an Emulex LP7000 HBA. The ROMPaq will not see the RA4100 controllers.

Re: Help with RA4100 firmware upgrade

Hi Ken, please do let me know if you happened to find a solution.

On the other hand, hoping Compaq original/certified HBA would allow the firmware upgrade utility to see the RA4100 hardware, I have replaced my Emulex LP7000 with Compaq part # DS-KGPSA-CY (Rev. B01). But, firmware upgrade utility still can├в t detect the RA4100.

I haven├в t given up yet. I sincerely hope some expert from this forum would be kind enough to show us the correct path.

Experts, thanking you guys in advance for your generous help. We sincerely appreciate any kind of light on this matter.

Re: Help with RA4100 firmware upgrade

That's not good, I just purchased a Compaq Fiber HBA in the hopes that the RomPaq will see the RA4100's through that card instead of the Emulex...
Oh well, maybe someone will step up and offer us some sort of solution.

And where did you get new firmware for this unit?

Thanks

Re: Help with RA4100 firmware upgrade

Hi Guys,

I don't remember ever having problems with rompaqs for RA4100 but I have always attached the RA4100 to servers with the 64bit/66MHz Fibre Channel Host Adapter part no 120186-B21 rather than the emulex cards.

Hope that helps, Mike.

Re: Help with RA4100 firmware upgrade

120186-B21 is stupidly expensive

Testing I discovered that 241322-001 also works & is much cheaper (but only 32 bit card)
