Re: Installation of HP FC on Solaris 9 having Veritas VM and EVA 5000 As SAN
Hi.
For EVA5000 running firmware 4.0xx (Active/Active) you can use Veritas DMP or Solaris MPxIO and you may install Veritas Array Support Library (ASL) "http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/280705.htm".
See Veritas Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) "ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/VolumeManager_UNIX/275752.pdf".
For EVA5000 running firmware 3.110 or 3.028 (A/P) only HP Secure Path is supported and you may configure LUNs under Secure Path. Take a look to HP-San Design Guide "http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&locale=en_US&docIndexId=179911&taskId=101&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=406734"
Veritas Volume Manager only access to presented LUNs like a "local disk".
Best regards.
