Installing Command View EVA on Domain Controller
Hi all,
We're thinking about installing Command View on a DC (as there isn't any other server available).
Is it recommended? or should we try to get another domain member server, not a DC?
I think I've read before that it wasn't a recommended option, but can't find it in Commmand View release notes.
Thanks in advanve.
Regards.

Re: Installing Command View EVA on Domain Controller
Juan:
It is never a good thing to install any other software on a Domain Controller unless it is something designed to be run on the DC.
That being said, I do not see why Command View would not run properly. The only issue I can think of would be that when you install, the only option for security that you have would be for domain security since there is no local user database on a DC.
If you can live with that, create a "HP Storage Admins" and a "HP Storage Users" group in your AD and install CV.
Oh, yea... one last issue which migt help you out:
CV needs to run on a server that is physically connected to the SAN. if your C does not have fibre cards in it, it will be useless to install CV there.
