Is the KGPSA-BY for use with switch or hub?
Hello Friends:
I need to know if the KGPSA-BY can be used with FC AL (hub) configurations?.
I'm installing a RA8000 in a DS20 with tru64 Unix V 4.0F PK 8; and when the server boot, the HBA is seen as KGPSA-BC, Rev 2.10, F/W Rev. 3.03A0 (1.31).
At the moment with "scu scan edt, scu show edt" I can see the HSG80 LUN's, but I can not put a label from tru64 (disklabel -rw rzb16a HSG80) any disk of he RA8000,because said me "I/O error".
Can you help me?.
Thanks.

Re: Is the KGPSA-BY for use with switch or hub?
The KGPSA-BC adapter can work in fabric and loop environments, but that must be supported by the device driver in the operating system. The AlphaServer is a special case, because it contains diagnostics and boot support in the console subsystem.
An idea that has just come up after answering in your other thread...
have you made sure that the connection(s) for the adapter on the HSG have been changed to the correct OPERATING_SYSTEM setting?

Re: Is the KGPSA-BY for use with switch or hub?
Hello Uwe:
Yes, the connection has the right operating system, I did this with the command:
HSG> set sangay1a1 operating_system=tru64_unix
sangay1a1 is the connection name.
Any other suggestion is welcome.
Regards.
