Works? More than likely, but at Wide Ultra scsi-3 speeds.

Supported? Well, the HSG80 is EOL. Support is limited at best. Have not found a suport statement yet from HP. Several others are looking as well.

The HSG80 does Ultra-SCSI (40 MegaBytes/sec) maximum at it's disk ports. If they 'work' for you, please notice that the maximum unit size is 1 TeraByte.

The answer to this question is no. I asked the same question about a month or so ago. The HSG80's "could" support 300gb drives but HP will not be releasing a firmware update code to support it. (since they now have an official end-of-life on the HSG80's)

mike - can you send me the contact in hp who gave you this info? It is a widely held belief that ACS 8.6-12 will support a universal U320 drive of any capacity.

Re: MA8000/EMA12000 Storage AND 300GB Drive Support

Here is a drive support matrix from last year (of course without a document number, sigh...):

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fh200002.www2.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc00257901%2Fc00257901.pdf

I don't recall when the 300 GigaByte disk drives were introduced. Perhaps we can get an update of the matrix, please??
