MSA 1000 Controllers
We have a customer with an MSA1000 with 2 controllers installed. We had a situation yesterday where both controllers seemed to go into standby mode which caused a server to hang on reboot as it was not able to see the logical drives on the MSA1000. To resolve the issue a reboot of the MSA1000 was performed.
Has anyone seen this happen before and if so is there any fixes that can be applied?
Thanks,
Paul

Re: MSA 1000 Controllers
The 642 controllers are hardware revision B and are running firmware revision 1.92. The windows driver version is 5.62.0.32.
The 2 controllers on the MSA are running version 1.14.

Re: MSA 1000 Controllers
If there are SCSI connections to a server then sounds like a different cabinet, MSA30.
MSA1000 units connect to servers via fibrechannel, as far as I am aware.

Re: MSA 1000 Controllers
Actually, it sounds like you have an MSA500G2, not a MSA1000 or an MSA30.
Can you confirm? Is there a part number on the enclosure?
I would rather not point you to the wrong weblinks so I will wait for a response.
I can trace back the MSA500 Array to firmware version 1.34, but can't seem to get anything for the MSA500G2 except that the initial dl380 packaged cluster support firmware for it was 1.40B. I am sure there was previous firmware for it. Still looking.
