MSA 1000 - Linux installaiton - diks I/O slow as molasses.

We have a MSA 1000 attached to Linux server (Ubuntu 9.04 distribution).
The QLogic drive complains about missing firmware but it still installs properly. I can mount drives and use them, but they are really slow. I get no more than 3MByte/second. The same unit used to work on some other server and I was getting 60+ Mbytes/second. What could be the problem?
I am attaching dmesg section where it loads the QLogic driver:

Quick update:
Only - disk write I/O is slow ~ 3Mbytes/second.
Disk read I/O looks good - I am getting ~ 65 Mbytes/second throughput
