MSA 1000 Maximum partition size

Dears, I have an MSA 1500 modular array and I want to create partitions with more than 2TB in size, can I do that?

The MSA1500 Firmware Revision is 7.00b1500

Fadi

No, the maximum size of a logical disk is 2 TeraBytes (2^32 Blocks * 512 Byte/Block). Your only chance is to use a volume manager from the operating system to combine the space of multiple logical disks.

So there is no firmware upgrade to the MSA 1500 that will remove this restriction?

i'm afraid not as uwe said. the msa1500 is also end of life and any fundamental changes are unlikely.
