MSA 1000 and HP-UX 11i

Hello!

We are considering buying a MSA1000 and a SAN switch to connect a number of hosts. I am told that one can connect Windows, Linux and Novell machines to it OR HP-UX and AIX to the MSA 1000 at present. I am also told that a new firmware release due in Jun. would allow all the OS's mentioned above to be connected at once. But, I just heard that it is only for the Itanium version of HP-UX 11i and not the PA-RISC version. Could someone clarify?

Hi Emil,

End of may we will release a firmware that will allow you to connect HP-UX boxes to an MSA1000. That firmware also has a few limitations : no mixing of platforms yet, and the HP-UX support is also limited : no cluster support, no multi-pathing.

The firmware that supports mixed platforms and full blown HP-UX support is still in the works and it won't be there before end of this year.
