MSA 1000
Have a compaq MSA1000 SAN and have following errors:-
- On one controller says "Array controller disabled"
- On other controller says "Volume 1 Rebuild Failure"
5 of the disks have red lights on them all the rest are ok. This array is exchange system so really urgent.
Thanks

Re: MSA 1000
Paul,
The 5 disks with red lights have failed. From the message on the controller "Volume 1 Rebuild Failure" I would say that the five disks were in the RAID set and that is over the redundancy limit that you built in to the system. IE if it was RAID 5 with a spare then you can lose two drives (assuming the after the first failure there was enough time to rebuild to the hot spare). If you were using RAID 0+1 then there are more combinations.
Have you tried to shut down and bring the array back online? The disks may come back up for a time and allow you to backukp the data and replace the drives.
