MSA 1040 array appears twice in Windows Disk Management

Hello,

I've been trying to find a definitive answer for this, as some forums are presenting contradicting stories.
I'm assuming it is related to the MPIO, but as I am on Server 2012 R2, the DSM ".inf" file just simply does not exist.

Has any one ran into this before?

You need to get MPIO installed and working properly.  Review the MPIO section of the best practice guide for more info

I believe you are just using the native Windows MPIO so shouldn't be any HPE specific stuff to download. This link for Windows 2008 may help you to enable MPIO; I think the steps are the same for Windows 2012.

Use:

ocsetup MultiPathIO /norestart

For SAS MSA:
mpclaim -n -i -d "HP      MSA 1040 SAS"

For SAN (FC) MSA:

mpclaim -n -i -d "HP      MSA 1040 SAN"

Reboot the Server
