MSA 1500cs Firmware Upgrade Options without the SAN utility

PDF in this .zip have procedure to flash via CLI and says that you must flash MSA20 first.

And you can flash entire MSA1500/MSA20 online with Windows MSA flash utility.
Did you try it?
What SAN utility to upgrage did you mean?

Well, I tried the ACU and the Windows-based flash utility. None of the applications would see the HBA I was using and thus I assumed that it is not supported with the tools provided.

I've now successfully performed the CLI upgrade. The MSA20 was already at the appropriate revision so I didn't need to do anything with that. Plus, it looks like the firmware file was for both the 1500 and the 20.

I think MSA20 fw 1.42 is in KINGCBRA.BIN file.
If you look into it you can see FW=1.42
