MSA 2000 does not rebuild Raid 5 array

Hi all.
We have a new MSA 2000sa configured with a raid 5 array consisting of 10 drives. I am testing that the array can rebuild after a drive failure. I powered down the MSA, removed one of the drives, and restarted the MSA. I can still access the Raid 5 volume in windows file explorer as expected, and I see a critical event warning in the MSA web interface about a "drive problem at enclosure position x". Now, when I put back in the drive, it shows an orange light on the drive. Nothing shows that that the array is rebuilding. The msa event warnings still show critical status.

Re: MSA 2000 does not rebuild Raid 5 array

This may be by design for MSA 2000 arrays that do not have any online spares. According to the user manual, the drive indicated by 'L' (leftover) in the web interface needs to have its metadata cleaned, then configured manually as a global or dynamic spare before reconstruction can take place. Will test tomorrow.
