MSA 2012fc Single I/O Can it be upgraded later?

Hi all,

We have just purchased an MSA 2012fc Single I/O array and I'm looking at getting the disks to go into it, I noticed that there isn't much difference in cost between single and dual IO disks (although there was a fair jump in price for single vs dual io on the array)
I was wondering if we could future proof a little by purchasing dual IO disks then if we require more speed down the line add another controller to the array.. is that possible to do ?
Would the dual IO disks work in a single IO array ?

Many Thanks!

Not sure what drives you are referring to.
According to the quickspecs the only SAS drives available for the 2012 are all Dual-port.
The base MSA enclosure is a single or dual "controller" system which is why there is such a cost difference.
As long as you buy from the drives listed in the quickspecs then you will be fine.
