MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
Hi
I have a big problem, I have a 2050 msa with firmware VL270R001-01,
only I just installed two modules sfp ethernet ref: C8S75B-C 1GB RJ45 iscsi sfp 4pk,
unfortunately the msa does not recognize the module ( sfp not supported),
I applied FC and ISCSI mode,
how can I fix this problem please?
Thank's advanced !

Re: MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
Hello,
By default the system is set in FC mode. After installing the SFPs did you change the host port mode setting? Try using the cli and the following command.
CLI # set host-port-mode iSCSI
This will set all the host ports on both controllers to iSCSI.
Cheers,
Shawn

Re: MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
Hello, very happy to read you,
obviously at my level I try to put the mode iscsi, but I still have the same message "the sfp is not supported",
the fc works well, for the replication I want to use the mode iscsi "rj -45 Ethernet ". My wish is to use both
FC modes for data mapping and iscsi for remote site replication. The reference of the sfp is: C8S75B-C and the msa
is the 2050.
Thank's

Re: MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
I want to understand which port you have inserted FC SFP and which port you want to use as iSCSI?
In your case the applicable command is as below,
# set host-port-mode FC-and-iSCSI
For both controllers, first two ports to use FC protocol and the second two ports to use iSCSI protocol.
If still same issue persists then try to reboot both controllers and check
Hope this helps!

Re: MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
Hello, Thank you for responding as quickly as possible.
The problem at my level is that the sfp ethernet transceiver is not supported
by the msa 2050 depending on the error it displays. Earlier, the fc transceivers
are well inserted in the first two ports of each controller and it works well,
but the ethernet sfp encounters errors "sfp unsupported, please confirm and type
the command set host-port-mode. .. msa reference: msa 2050, sfp: 1Gb ethernet
rj-45 C8S75B-C, the fc cables are connected to the A1 B1 and the cable rj-45 to the A3 B3 I
restarted the two controllers by unplugging the cabs feeding but nothing change ...

Hope this helps!

Re: MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
Hello,
In case it helps we have documentation on how to set the host ports.
Using SMU: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=a00062068en_us
Using the CLI: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=a00062067en_us
Hopefully these documents help.
Cheers,
Shawn

Re: MSA 2050 Module SFP Ethernet no supported
Hello, thank you once again for the consideration you give to my concern.
Obviously I configured and physically I installed the FC ports in premeir (A1, A2, B1, B2)
and iscsi pors with the RJ-45 last (A3, A4, B3, B4). But to no avail, I wonder exactly is my
sfp compatible with my MSA ?
I have redemailed the bay several times but to no avail.
