MSA 2050 Moving disks from one pool to another

I have inherited a MSA2050 set up with two pools. One pool has significant space left (20%) while the other has run out. We are in the process of ordering a new tray of disks, but it will be a couple of months to get through the process. Is there a way to transfer disks between pools, or to just merge two pools together?

Re: MSA 2050 Moving disks from one pool to another

Hello,

There is no way to merge two pools together.

One thing to consider is creating a new volume on the Pool that has space and migrating some data from the Pool that is full to the new volume on the other Pool. This will help allieviate some of the space issues until you get the new enclosure. You should carefully consider what data is being moved and how to cordinate that with your future space.

Cheers,
Shawn
