MSA 2060 Disk-group Qtof
Hi all,
I have problem with a MSA2060 array.
After a power crash in our datacenter, something went bad on that array.
On that array, there is one RAID5 diskgroup of 8 disks, and on disk set as global spare.
Currently, it seems that there is no more diskgroup available.
Here are information I get from CLI:
# show disk-groups
Name Size Free Pool Tier % of Pool Own RAID Disks Chk Status Current Job Job% Sec Fmt Health
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dgA01 69.9TB 0B N/A 100 A RAID5 8 64k QTOF 512e Fault
Reason
Action
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The disk group is quarantined.
- Look for events in the event log related to quarantine (172, 485, or 590) and follow the recommended actions for those events.

Success: Command completed successfully. (2022-01-17 17:13:17)

It is impossible to dequarantine this "local" disk-group
# dequarantine disk-group dgA01
Removing this disk group from quarantine will take the disk group offline and could result in irreversible data loss.
Do you want to continue? (y/n) y
Error: The requested operation cannot be completed because the target disk group is an internal component. - Disk group dgA01 was not dequarantined. (dgA01)

what can i do to regain control? I think that I could not have access to this data again. it looks like the loss of several disks of my RAID, even if I do not explain why the spare disk did not take its place. I would like to delete this disk-group so I can recreate and start whith a new proper one.
Thank you for your help

Re: MSA 2060 Disk-group Qtof
Hello,
I would suggest, you have to log a proper case with HPE, and share the appropriate logs for further analysis.
If you feel this was helpful please click the KUDOS! thumb below and accept the solution.

Re: MSA 2060 Disk-group Qtof
Hi,
You could try shutting down the RAID controllers, wait for 2-3 minutes and remove power to controller enclosure and reconnect it.
Command to shutdown controllers
shutdown both
If the disk group still remains in quarantine state after power cycle, you would need to log a support case to execute back end engineering commands to either delete or dequarantine disk group.
